To prepare the crescent braid, the first step is rolling out the dough. Use a clean, lightly floured surface to prevent sticking. Unroll the crescent roll dough into a rectangle, ensuring that the perforations are sealed to create one continuous sheet. For a more uniform thickness, gently roll the dough with a rolling pin.

Ingredients

2 cups cooked chicken, shredded or diced

1 cup Alfredo sauce (store-bought or homemade)

1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded

1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated

1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

1 package (8 ounces) refrigerated crescent roll dough

1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Prepare the Filling: In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked chicken, Alfredo sauce, mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.

Roll the Dough: Unroll the crescent roll dough, and pinch the seams together to form a single sheet. Lay this sheet flat on the prepared baking sheet.

Cut the Dough: Using a sharp knife or a pizza cutter, make diagonal cuts along the sides of the dough, about 2 inches apart.

Add the Filling: Place the chicken Alfredo mixture down the center of the dough, spreading evenly from top to bottom.

Braid the Dough: Starting from the top, fold the strips of dough over the filling, alternating sides to create a braid. Pinch the ends to seal.

Brush with Egg Wash: Brush the braided dough with the beaten egg to give it a golden color when baking.

Bake: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes or until the crescent braid is golden brown and puffed.

Garnish and Serve: Once baked, remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes. Sprinkle with chopped parsley before slicing and serving.

Enjoy: Cut into individual pieces and enjoy your delicious Baked Chicken Alfredo Crescent Braid warm!
