Ingredients

4 large croissants

8 ounces sliced ham (preferably smoked or honey glazed)

8 ounces sliced Swiss cheese (or cheese of your choice)

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

2 tablespoons Dijon mustard

2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

1 tablespoon fresh chopped parsley (optional, for garnish)

Salt and pepper to taste

1 egg (for egg wash)

Instructions

Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Prepare the Croissants: Slice each croissant in half lengthwise, creating a top and bottom.

Add the Mustard: Spread about 1/2 tablespoon of Dijon mustard on the inside of each croissant half.

Layer the Ingredients: On the bottom half of each croissant, layer 2 ounces of sliced ham, followed by 2 ounces of Swiss cheese, and a generous sprinkle of shredded mozzarella cheese. Season lightly with salt and pepper. Place the top half of the croissant on each sandwich.

Brush with Butter: Place the assembled croissants on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the tops with the melted butter to give them a golden, crispy finish.

Egg Wash: In a small bowl, beat the egg and brush it over the tops of the croissants for an extra glossy appearance.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the croissants are puffed and golden brown, and the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Garnish and Serve: Once baked, remove from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes. If desired, sprinkle with fresh chopped parsley for a touch of color before serving.

Enjoy: Serve warm with a side of mixed greens or a light salad for a delightful brunch or snack!
