2 cups all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon salt

1/4 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed

3/4 cup buttermilk

For the Sausage Gravy:

1 pound breakfast sausage (spicy or mild, to taste)

1/3 cup all-purpose flour

2 cups whole milk

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)

Salt to taste

For Toppings:

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

2 large eggs

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions
 

Prepare the Biscuit Base:

    - Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).

      - In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

        - Cut in the cold butter with a pastry cutter or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

          - Stir in the buttermilk until just combined. Don’t overmix!

            - Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead gently just until it comes together (about 3-4 times). Pat it into a round about 1-inch thick.

              Shape for Pizza:

                - Roll out the dough or press it into a pizza pan or baking sheet to form a circular base (about 12 inches).

                  - Bake the biscuit base in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until lightly golden. Remove and set aside.

                    Make the Sausage Gravy:

                      - In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the breakfast sausage, breaking it apart, until browned and cooked through (about 5-7 minutes).

                        - Sprinkle the flour over the cooked sausage and stir to combine, cooking for an additional minute.

                          - Gradually pour in the milk, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens (about 3-5 minutes).

                            - Season with black pepper, cayenne (if using), and salt. Remove from heat.

                              Assemble the Pizza:

                                - Spread the sausage gravy evenly over the baked biscuit base.

                                  - Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese on top.

                                    - Create two small wells in the gravy and crack an egg into each well.

                                      Bake the Pizza:

                                        - Return the pizza to the oven and bake for another 10-12 minutes, or until the eggs are cooked to your liking and the cheese is bubbly and golden.

                                          Serve:

                                            - Once baked, remove the pizza from the oven. Garnish with fresh parsley before slicing.
