Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 cup granulated sugar

1 tbsp baking powder

1/2 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp salt

1 tsp ground cinnamon

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

3/4 cup whole milk

2 large eggs

2 tsp vanilla extract

2 cups peeled and diced apples (preferably Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)

1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)

2-3 tbsp milk (for glaze)

Additional cinnamon for dusting (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan with butter or cooking spray and set aside.

Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and ground cinnamon until well combined.

Prepare Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, combine the melted butter, whole milk, eggs, and vanilla extract. Whisk until fully combined.

Combine Mixtures: Pour the wet ingredients into the dry mixture, stirring gently until just combined. Do not overmix. The batter will be thick.

Fold in Apples: Gently fold in the diced apples until they are evenly distributed throughout the batter.

Transfer to Pan: Spoon the batter into the prepared loaf pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.

Bake: Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. If the top begins to brown too quickly, tent with aluminum foil halfway through baking.

Cool the Bread: Once baked, remove the bread from the oven and let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes. Then, transfer the loaf to a wire rack to cool completely.

Prepare the Glaze: In a small bowl, mix together the powdered sugar and 2-3 tablespoons of milk until smooth and drizzle-able. You can adjust the consistency by adding more sugar or milk as needed.

Glaze the Bread: Once the bread has cooled, drizzle the glaze over the top. For an extra touch, sprinkle with additional cinnamon if desired. Allow the glaze to set for about 15 minutes before slicing.
