Crispy Cheddar Ranch Chicken Sliders

Ingredients
  

For the Chicken:

1 lb (450g) boneless, skinless chicken breasts

1 cup buttermilk

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 cup seasoned bread crumbs

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp onion powder

1 tsp paprika

Salt and pepper to taste

Oil for frying

For the Ranch Dressing:

1/2 cup mayonnaise

1/4 cup sour cream

1 tbsp ranch seasoning mix

1 tsp fresh lemon juice

Salt and pepper to taste

For Assembly:

12 slider buns

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 cup shredded lettuce

1 large tomato, sliced

Pickles (optional)

Instructions
 

Marinate the Chicken:

    - Place the chicken breasts in a bowl and cover with buttermilk. Let marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour or overnight for best flavor.

      Prepare the Breading:

        - In a shallow dish, mix together the flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. In another shallow dish, place the seasoned bread crumbs.

          Bread the Chicken:

            - Remove each chicken breast from the buttermilk, allowing excess to drip off. Dredge in the flour mixture, shaking off any excess.

              - Dip back into the buttermilk and then coat thoroughly in the bread crumbs.

                Fry the Chicken:

                  - In a large skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat. Once hot (about 350°F/175°C), carefully add the breaded chicken breasts. Fry for 5-7 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

                    Make the Ranch Dressing:

                      - In a bowl, combine mayonnaise, sour cream, ranch seasoning mix, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Mix well and adjust seasoning to taste.

                        Assemble the Sliders:

                          - Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

                            - Slice each slider bun in half. Spread a generous amount of ranch dressing on the bottom half of the bun. Place a crispy chicken breast directly on top, followed by a sprinkle of shredded cheddar cheese, a layer of shredded lettuce, and a slice of tomato. Add pickles if desired.

                              - Top with the other half of the bun.

                                Bake the Sliders:

                                  - Place assembled sliders on a baking sheet and bake for 5-10 minutes until the cheese is melted and buns are slightly toasted.

                                    Serve and Enjoy:

                                      - Remove sliders from the oven and serve immediately with extra ranch dressing on the side.
