The first step in making Crunchy Ranch Roasted Chickpeas is preheating your oven. This crucial step ensures that your chickpeas will roast properly, achieving that delightful crunch everyone loves. Set your oven to 400°F (200°C). Preheating not only brings your oven to the right temperature but also helps to eliminate moisture from the chickpeas, promoting a crispier texture. While your oven heats up, you can move on to preparing the chickpeas.

Ingredients

1 can (15 oz) chickpeas, drained and rinsed

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 teaspoon ranch seasoning mix (store-bought or homemade)

½ teaspoon garlic powder

½ teaspoon onion powder

¼ teaspoon smoked paprika

¼ teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)

¼ teaspoon black pepper (adjust to taste)

Optional: 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.

Prepare the Chickpeas: After draining the chickpeas, pat them dry with a paper towel to remove excess moisture. This will help them get crispy in the oven.

Season the Chickpeas: In a large bowl, combine the chickpeas, olive oil, ranch seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Toss everything together until the chickpeas are evenly coated.

Spread on Baking Sheet: Lay the seasoned chickpeas in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Make sure they have some space between them for even roasting.

Roasting: Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, shaking the baking sheet halfway through to ensure they roast evenly. You want them to be golden and crunchy, so keep an eye on them during the last few minutes.

Cool and Serve: Once roasted, remove from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes. For added flavor, toss with fresh chopped parsley if desired. Serve warm or at room temperature as a healthy snack or topping!
