Ingredients

3 ripe bananas

1 cup dark chocolate chips (or dark chocolate, chopped)

2 tablespoons coconut oil

1/4 cup crushed nuts (almonds, walnuts, or your choice)

1/4 cup shredded coconut (unsweetened, optional)

Sea salt, for sprinkling (optional)

Instructions

Prepare the Bananas: Peel the bananas and slice them into approximately 1/2-inch thick rounds. Arrange the slices in a single layer on a parchment-lined baking sheet.

Freeze the Banana Slices: Place the baking sheet in the freezer for about 1-2 hours or until the banana slices are firm.

Melt the Chocolate: While the bananas are freezing, melt the dark chocolate chips and coconut oil together. You can do this in a microwave-safe bowl by microwaving in 30-second intervals, stirring after each interval until smooth, or using a double boiler on the stovetop.

Dip the Banana Slices: Once the banana slices are frozen, remove them from the freezer. Dip each slice into the melted chocolate, allowing any excess to drip off.

Add Toppings: Place the chocolate-covered banana slices back on the parchment-lined baking sheet. Immediately sprinkle the crushed nuts and shredded coconut over each bite, followed by a tiny pinch of sea salt if desired.

Freeze Again: Once all the banana slices have been coated and topped, place the baking sheet back in the freezer for about 30 minutes, or until the chocolate is solid.

Drizzle with More Chocolate: For an extra touch, melt a bit more chocolate (optional) and carefully drizzle it over the frozen banana bites using a fork or a piping bag.

Serve and Enjoy: Once the chocolate has set, serve immediately or transfer the banana bites to an airtight container and store them in the freezer for a later treat.
