Ingredients

1 lb (450g) fresh mushrooms (preferably cremini or button), cleaned and stems trimmed

4 tablespoons unsalted butter

3 cloves garlic, minced

2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

1 tablespoon fresh thyme leaves (or 1 teaspoon dried thyme)

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 teaspoon balsamic vinegar

Salt and black pepper, to taste

Lemon wedges, for serving

Instructions

Prepare the Mushroom Marinade: In a mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, minced garlic, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, thyme, and a generous pinch of salt and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.

Marinate the Mushrooms: Add the cleaned mushrooms to the bowl and gently toss them in the garlic butter marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Let them marinate for at least 15-30 minutes at room temperature. This allows the flavors to penetrate the mushrooms.

Preheat the Grill: Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. If using a charcoal grill, make sure the coals are hot and glowing. For a gas grill, preheat for about 10-15 minutes.

Grill the Mushrooms: Use a grill basket or skewers for easier grilling. If using skewers, thread the mushrooms onto them. Place the mushrooms on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they are tender and have nice grill marks. Avoid overcooking – the mushrooms should be juicy and not dried out.

Finish with Fresh Herbs: Once grilled, remove the mushrooms from the grill and transfer them to a serving platter. Sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley for a burst of color and added flavor.

Serve: Squeeze fresh lemon juice over the grilled mushrooms for an extra zing. Serve immediately alongside your favorite grilled meats or as a delicious appetizer.
