Ingredients

1 cup rolled oats

1/2 cup natural almond butter (or any nut butter of choice)

1/4 cup chocolate protein powder (whey or plant-based)

1/4 cup honey or maple syrup

1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1/4 cup mini dark chocolate chips (dairy-free if desired)

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

A pinch of sea salt

Optional: chopped nuts or seeds for rolling

Instructions

Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the rolled oats, chocolate protein powder, unsweetened cocoa powder, and sea salt. Stir well to evenly distribute the dry ingredients.

Add Wet Ingredients: To the dry mix, add the almond butter, honey (or maple syrup), and vanilla extract. Use a spatula to mix everything together until a sticky dough forms.

Incorporate Chocolate Chips: Gently fold in the mini dark chocolate chips, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the dough.

Chill the Mixture: Cover the mixing bowl with plastic wrap and place it in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes. This will make the dough easier to handle.

Form Balls: Once chilled, remove the mixture from the refrigerator. Using your hands, scoop out about a tablespoon of dough and roll it into a ball. Repeat this process until all the dough is used up.

Optional Coating: If desired, roll the balls in chopped nuts or seeds for an extra crunch and visual appeal.

Store and Enjoy: Place the protein balls in an airtight container and store them in the refrigerator for up to a week. They can also be frozen for longer storage.

Prep Time, Total Time, Servings: 10 minutes | 40 minutes (including chilling) | Makes about 12 balls
