When making your S’mores Delight Pie, the choice between semi-sweet and milk chocolate chips can significantly affect the flavor profile of your dessert. Semi-sweet chocolate chips offer a rich, deep chocolate flavor with a slight bitterness that balances the sweetness of the pie. This option is perfect for those who enjoy a more intense chocolate experience. On the other hand, milk chocolate chips bring a creamier, sweeter taste, making them ideal for those who prefer a softer chocolate flavor that pairs beautifully with the marshmallow and cream cheese filling. Depending on your preference or the preferences of your guests, you can choose one or even combine both types of chocolate chips for a unique flavor dimension.

Ingredients

1 ½ cups graham cracker crumbs

½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder

½ cup granulated sugar

½ cup unsalted butter, melted

8 oz cream cheese, softened

1 cup powdered sugar

1 cup heavy whipping cream

1 tsp vanilla extract

2 cups mini marshmallows

½ cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or milk chocolate, your choice)

Extra mini marshmallows and chocolate shavings for garnish

Instructions

Prepare the Crust:

    - In a mixing bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs, cocoa powder, granulated sugar, and melted butter. Mix until well combined and the mixture resembles wet sand.

      - Press the mixture evenly into the bottom and up the sides of a 9-inch pie dish. Use the back of a measuring cup or your fingers to pack it tightly. Place in the refrigerator to set while you prepare the filling.

        Make the Cream Cheese Filling:

          - In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with an electric mixer until smooth. Gradually add the powdered sugar, mixing until well combined and creamy.

            - In a separate bowl, whip the heavy whipping cream with the vanilla extract until soft peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture until fully combined.

              Assemble the Pie:

                - Remove the crust from the refrigerator. Spoon the cream cheese mixture into the prepared crust, spreading it evenly.

                  - Scatter the mini marshmallows and chocolate chips over the top of the filling.

                    Chill the Pie:

                      - Place the pie back into the refrigerator and let it chill for at least 4 hours or overnight to allow it to set properly.

                        Garnish and Serve:

                          - Before serving, sprinkle extra mini marshmallows and chocolate shavings on top for garnish. For a fun touch, you can briefly toast the marshmallows with a kitchen torch for that campfire effect (optional).

                            Slice and Enjoy:

                              - Slice the pie into generous pieces and serve chilled. Enjoy the delicious, messy, and nostalgic flavors of s’mores without the campfire!
