1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter

2 cups granulated sugar

4 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

15 Oreo cookies, coarsely chopped

10 Oreo cookies, whole for topping

1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (optional)

Preheat the Oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a 9x13 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving some overhang for easy removal later.

    Melt the Butter: In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt the butter completely. Once melted, remove from heat, and let it cool slightly.

      Mix in Sugar: In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter and granulated sugar. Whisk together until fully incorporated and smooth.

        Add Eggs and Vanilla: Add the eggs, one at a time, to the sugar-butter mixture, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract until combined.

          Combine Dry Ingredients: In another bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined. Do not overmix.

            Fold in Oreos & Chocolate Chips: Gently fold in the coarsely chopped Oreo cookies and semi-sweet chocolate chips, if using.

              Pour Batter into Pan: Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly with a spatula.

                Add Whole Oreos: Gently press the whole Oreo cookies into the top of the brownie batter. This will give an extra delicious touch and visual appeal!

                  Bake: Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes. The brownies should look set, with a few moist crumbs sticking to a toothpick when inserted in the center.
