Ingredients

4 cups Reese’s Puffs cereal

1 cup smooth peanut butter

1/2 cup honey or maple syrup

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/4 cup mini chocolate chips (optional)

1/4 cup chopped nuts (optional)

A pinch of salt

Instructions

Prepare the Baking Dish: Line an 8x8 inch square baking dish with parchment paper, leaving some overhang for easy removal. Lightly grease the parchment paper with cooking spray or oil to prevent sticking.

Melt the Mixture: In a medium saucepan, combine the peanut butter and honey (or maple syrup) over medium heat. Stir continuously until the mixture is smooth and fully combined, about 2-3 minutes. Be careful not to let it boil!

Add Flavor: Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and a pinch of salt to enhance the flavor.

Combine with Cereal: In a large mixing bowl, pour the Reese’s Puffs cereal. Gradually add the warm peanut butter mixture, folding gently until the cereal is well coated. If desired, mix in the mini chocolate chips and chopped nuts at this stage.

Press into the Dish: Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish. Use a spatula or your hands (dampen them slightly to prevent sticking) to press the mixture firmly and evenly into the dish.

Chill: Let the bars cool at room temperature for about 30 minutes, then refrigerate for at least 1 hour to set.

Slice and Enjoy: Once set, lift the bars out using the overhanging parchment paper. Cut into squares or rectangles and serve. Store any leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature or in the fridge.
