Ingredients

1 lb (450g) breakfast sausage (mild or spicy, depending on preference)

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or your favorite cheese)

1/4 cup green onions, finely chopped

1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp onion powder

1/4 tsp black pepper

1 egg (for egg wash)

Optional: hot sauce for serving

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lining a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Cook the Sausage: In a skillet over medium heat, add the breakfast sausage and cook until browned and fully cooked, breaking it apart with a spatula. Drain excess grease if necessary.

Mix the Filling: In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked sausage, shredded cheddar cheese, chopped green onions, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Mix thoroughly until well combined.

Roll Out the Dough: Open the can of crescent roll dough and separate the triangles along the perforated lines.

Fill the Rolls: Spoon a generous amount of the sausage mixture onto the wide end of each crescent triangle. Be careful not to overfill to avoid spilling out during baking.

Shape the Rolls: Starting from the wide end, carefully roll the dough up towards the point, tucking in the filling as you go. Place the rolled crescent on the prepared baking sheet with the pointed side facing down.

Prepare for Baking: In a small bowl, whisk the egg and brush it lightly over the tops of the crescent rolls for a golden finish.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the crescent rolls are golden brown and puffed.

Cool and Serve: Once finished baking, remove from the oven and allow to cool for a few minutes. Serve warm, optionally with hot sauce on the side for dipping!
