Ingredients

1 lb (450g) ground beef

2 medium potatoes, peeled and diced

1 medium onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup frozen peas and carrots mix

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon dried thyme

1 teaspoon paprika

Salt and pepper to taste

1 pouch (14 oz) ready-made pie crusts (top and bottom)

1 egg (for egg wash)

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 cup beef broth

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

Cook the Beef: In a large skillet over medium heat, add olive oil. Once heated, add chopped onions and minced garlic, sauté until the onions are translucent. Add ground beef, stirring until browned. Drain excess fat if necessary.

Add Vegetables: Stir in the diced potatoes, frozen peas, and carrots. Mix well and cook for about 5-7 minutes until the potatoes begin to soften.

Season the Mixture: Add Worcestershire sauce, dried thyme, paprika, salt, and pepper. Pour in the beef broth, bringing the mixture to a gentle simmer. Cover the skillet and let it cook for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the potatoes are fully cooked and tender. Stir occasionally.

Prepare the Pie Crust: Roll out half of the pie crust to fit your pie dish. Press it into the bottom and up the sides.

Fill the Pie: Spoon the beef and potato mixture into the crust, ensuring an even distribution.

Top and Seal: Roll out the second half of the pie crust and cover the filling. Pinch the edges to seal, and cut slits in the top crust to allow steam to escape.

Egg Wash: Beat the egg in a small bowl and brush it over the top of the pie for a golden finish.

Bake: Place the pie in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown.

Cool and Serve: Let the pie cool for about 10 minutes before slicing. Serve warm and enjoy the comforting flavors!
