Ingredients

1 lb ground turkey

1/2 cup breadcrumbs (preferably whole wheat)

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/4 cup finely chopped fresh parsley

1/4 cup finely chopped onion

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 large egg

1 tsp dried oregano

1 tsp salt

1/2 tsp black pepper

1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional for a little heat)

1/2 cup marinara sauce (for serving)

Olive oil (for frying)

Instructions

Prepare the Mixture: In a large mixing bowl, combine ground turkey, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, onion, garlic, egg, oregano, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Mix until all ingredients are evenly incorporated. Be careful not to overmix, as this can make the meatballs tough.

Form the Meatballs: With your hands, form the mixture into meatballs, roughly 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter. You should get about 20 meatballs. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Cook the Meatballs: Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add a drizzle of olive oil. Once the oil is hot, gently place the meatballs in the skillet, leaving space between them. Cook in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding the pan.

Brown on All Sides: Cook the meatballs for about 8-10 minutes, turning occasionally until they are browned on all sides and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F).

Serve: Once cooked, remove the meatballs from the skillet and drain excess oil on a paper towel. Serve warm over cooked spaghetti and marinara sauce or enjoy them on their own with toothpicks for a tasty appetizer.

Garnish (optional): Sprinkle extra Parmesan cheese and fresh parsley on top before serving for added flavor and presentation.
