Ingredients

1 lb ground turkey

1 small onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 tablespoon chipotle adobo sauce (from a can of chipotle peppers)

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon ground cumin

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1 tablespoon brown sugar

Salt and pepper to taste

1/2 cup diced tomatoes (canned or fresh)

1/4 cup chicken broth

Slider buns (about 8)

Sliced jalapeños and fresh cilantro for garnish

Sliced cheese (optional, like pepper jack or cheddar)

Instructions

Cook the Turkey: In a large skillet over medium heat, add the olive oil. Once hot, add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 3-4 minutes. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.

Season the Meat: Add the ground turkey to the skillet. Use a wooden spoon to break it up. Cook until browned and no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes.

Combine Flavors: Stir in the chipotle adobo sauce, Worcestershire sauce, cumin, smoked paprika, brown sugar, salt, and pepper. Mix well to incorporate the spices throughout the turkey.

Add Liquids: Pour in the diced tomatoes and chicken broth, stirring to combine. Bring the mixture to a simmer and let it cook for about 10 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld and the mixture to thicken slightly.

Prepare the Sliders: While the turkey mixture simmers, preheat your grill or griddle. Optionally, lightly toast the slider buns on the grill until golden.

Assemble the Sliders: Spoon a generous amount of the spicy turkey mixture onto the bottom half of each toasted slider bun. If using, add a slice of cheese on top then cover with the top half of the bun.

Garnish and Serve: Top your sliders with sliced jalapeños and fresh cilantro for an extra kick. Serve immediately, along with your favorite sides, like sweet potato fries or a fresh salad.
