Ingredients

8 chicken drumsticks

1/3 cup pure maple syrup

1/4 cup Dijon mustard

2 tablespoons soy sauce

1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional for heat)

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil for easier cleanup.

Prepare the Marinade: In a medium bowl, whisk together the maple syrup, Dijon mustard, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, minced garlic, smoked paprika, black pepper, and cayenne pepper if using. This will create a deliciously sticky marinade for our drumsticks.

Marinate the Drumsticks: Place the chicken drumsticks in a large zip-top bag or a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the drumsticks, ensuring they are well-coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 1 hour (or up to overnight for maximum flavor).

Arrange on Baking Sheet: Remove the drumsticks from the marinade, allowing excess to drip off, and arrange them in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Reserve the marinade for basting.

Bake the Chicken: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes. Every 10 minutes, baste the drumsticks with the reserved marinade to keep them juicy and to build up that sticky glaze.

Check for Doneness: The drumsticks are done when they reach an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C) and have a beautiful golden-brown color.

Finish and Serve: Once cooked, remove the drumsticks from the oven. Let them rest for a few minutes, then garnish with freshly chopped parsley before serving. Enjoy with your favorite sides!
