Ingredients

For the Fruit Filling:

2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced

2 cups fresh peaches, pitted and diced (about 4 medium peaches)

½ cup granulated sugar

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 tablespoons cornstarch

Pinch of salt

For the Crumble Topping:

1 cup rolled oats

1 cup all-purpose flour

½ cup brown sugar, packed

½ cup unsalted butter, melted

1 teaspoon cinnamon

½ teaspoon nutmeg

¼ teaspoon salt

½ cup chopped nuts (e.g., pecans or almonds) (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.

    Prepare the Fruit Filling:

      - In a large mixing bowl, combine the sliced strawberries and diced peaches.

        - Add the granulated sugar, lemon juice, vanilla extract, cornstarch, and a pinch of salt.

          - Toss everything together until the fruits are well coated.

            - Pour the fruit mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.

              Make the Crumble Topping:

                - In another bowl, combine the rolled oats, all-purpose flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.

                  - Pour in the melted unsalted butter and mix until the mixture appears crumbly.

                    - If desired, stir in the chopped nuts for an added crunch.

                      Assemble the Crisp:

                        - Evenly distribute the crumble topping over the fruit filling in the baking dish, ensuring full coverage.

                          Bake:

                            - Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for about 30-35 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the fruit is bubbly.

                              Cool & Serve:

                                - Remove the crumble from the oven and allow it to cool for a few minutes before serving.

                                  - Serve warm, optionally topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for an extra indulgence. Enjoy!
