1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley

1/2 teaspoon paprika

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon onion powder

Salt and pepper to taste

1 egg

For the Noodle Bake:

12 oz egg noodles

3 cups beef broth

1 cup sour cream

1 cup heavy cream

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon Dijon mustard

1/2 teaspoon thyme

1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika

Salt and pepper to taste

1/2 cup grated cheddar cheese (for topping)

Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

Preheat Oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Make Meatballs: In a large bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and the egg. Mix well until fully combined. Using your hands, form the mixture into small meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter.

Cook Meatballs: In a large skillet over medium heat, add a tablespoon of oil. Once hot, carefully add the meatballs in batches, cooking until browned on all sides (about 5-7 minutes). Remove them from the skillet and set aside.

Cook Noodles: In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil and cook the egg noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Make the Sauce: In the same skillet used for the meatballs, sprinkle 2 tablespoons of flour into the remaining drippings. Stir for about a minute to cook off the raw flour taste. Gradually whisk in beef broth, sour cream, heavy cream, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, thyme, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Stir well and let simmer for about 5 minutes until slightly thickened.

Combine: In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked noodles, meatballs, and sauce. Toss until everything is well-coated.

Transfer to Baking Dish: Pour the mixture into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, spreading evenly.

Add Cheese: Sprinkle the grated cheddar cheese evenly over the top.

Bake: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.

Garnish and Serve: Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving. Enjoy your Swedish meatball noodle bake hot!
