Ingredients

8 oz linguine or spaghetti

1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined

4 tbsp unsalted butter

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 lemon (zest and juice)

1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)

Salt and black pepper to taste

1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

Instructions

Cook the Pasta: In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the linguine or spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and reserve about 1 cup of pasta water.

Prepare the Shrimp: While the pasta is cooking, season the shrimp with salt and black pepper.

Sauté Garlic & Shrimp: In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes, and sauté for about 1 minute, until fragrant. Then, add the seasoned shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they turn pink and opaque.

Add Lemon Flavor: Squeeze the juice of one lemon over the shrimp and add the lemon zest. Stir to combine and cook for an additional minute.

Combine Pasta and Sauce: Add the drained pasta to the skillet and toss everything together. If the mixture seems dry, gradually add reserved pasta water until you reach your desired consistency.

Finishing Touches: Remove from heat and stir in the chopped parsley. Adjust seasoning with additional salt, black pepper, or lemon juice if needed.

Serve: Plate the pasta and top with grated Parmesan cheese (if using) for a cheesy finish. Enjoy!
